We’re BACK! [General] — Michael @ 12:49 am

Coming to you LIVE from the basement of an undisclosed location somewhere in the vicinity of Denver, Colorado, it is time for this intrepid blogger to return to the blogosphere.

This return coincides with several events that shall be the subjects of near-future write-ups, the most significant being:

I HAVE A JOB!

Naturally, this only narrowly beats out the other top news item - the soon-to-be return of Major League Baseball.  Pitchers and Catchers report to camp - I believe - tomorrow, roughly at the same time Roger Clemens will be testifying before the Congressional Committee on Wasting Time and Taxpayers’ Money, more commonly known as the Congressional Oversight Committee.  That’s right, it’s the return of the zealous group of Washington lawmakers who earlier questioned "Mr. Palmieri" about his use of steroids before his "300th" hit, lamented about the history of cheating in baseball since the tragic events of those Eight Men Out of the "Chicago Black Hawks," and probably STILL think the internet is just a series of tubes.  We wonder why there are congressional hearings on why cable companies still refuse to carry the ridiculously overpriced NFL Network on basic cable while allowing MLB’s monopolistic treatment of its Extra Innings package only on satellite?  Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Congressional Oversight Committee.

Also in Baseball news, the Detroit Tigers of this year are shaping up to be one of the most dominant teams - on paper - this decade.  Off-season moves picking up Miguel Cabrera, Dontrelle Willis, and Edgar Renteria, along with retaining key free agents, gives the team the potential of fielding a team in which the WORST hitter in the lineup is a multiple-All-Star who makes - deservedly - more than $10 million.  More on that later.

For now, I must take a pause so I can find a place to live and all that jazz.
